Description

Two mounting options, to suit your doorway.

Safety 1st’s Lift, Lock & Swing Gate offers two ways to section off a passage: a pressure-mounted setup that lifts out of the way, or a hardware-mounted setup that swings open. The top handle brings the locking and adjustment controls together. Width adjusts to the opening, with different fitting ranges for the two modes. At the top of stairs, hardware mounting is required.

  • Two modes : Pressure or hardware mount
  • 26 in : Height
  • Stair top : Hardware mount required

Different operation for each setup

With hardware installed, the gate swings open for adults to pass. In pressure-mounted mode, the release mechanism lets you lift it away from the opening. Choose the location and measure first: a 28-inch opening may suit pressure mounting, while the swing-open setup needs at least 30 inches.

Section off areas of your home

The gate can be used between rooms or at the bottom of stairs when installed as directed. It can also help restrict a pet’s access. At the top of stairs, use the required brackets and stops so the gate opens over the floor, never over the steps. Adult supervision is still needed.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pressure mount it at the top of stairs?

No. Top-of-stairs use requires the manufacturer’s hardware-mounted setup, including the specified brackets and gate stops. The gate must never swing over the steps.

Do both modes fit the same opening widths?

No. Pressure mounting fits 28–42 inches (71.1–106.7 cm), while hardware mounting requires 30–42 inches (76.2–106.7 cm). Measure your opening before choosing the setup.

Does pressure mounting mean no fittings are needed?

Do not assume that. Install the wall cups and all fasteners required by the manual supplied with your gate. Pressure mounting does not remove the need to follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

When should I stop using it?

It is intended for children aged 6–24 months. Stop earlier if your child can climb over or dislodge the gate. Regularly check the fittings and locking mechanism.

What is included?

The white gate and its mounting and stop components. Door frames, stair railings and other home fixtures shown in the photos are not included; check their suitability against the manual.
